Earth Fest, Masquerade Gala: 8 events to attend throughout March, April near Sugar Land, Missouri City

From live performances and concerts to festivals and galas, here are eight events to keep an eye out for. 

Edible Earth Fest: The family-friendly festival includes free plants and trees, environmental learning stations and visits with the ambassador birds from the Houston Wildlife Center.

Wine & Beer Walk
: The fifth annual wine and beer walk features live music, food trucks, tastings and a 1K Keg Run through Downtown Rosenberg.

Masquerade at the Museum
: The gala benefits Bridge Preparatory Academy, a Christian private school for students with learning disabilities.

Artistic Impressions Tattoo Studio opens 3rd location in Sugar Land

Artistic Impressions Tattoo Studio has announced the grand opening of its third shop in Sugar Land later this month.

A closer look: Described by owner Spiro Kambitsis as an “upscale studio,” the shop offers custom tattoos and piercings. 

One more thing: Artistic Impressions will provide special deals the day of their grand opening March 22 including $35 for small tattoos and $25 for basic piercings, Kambitsis said.

Houston Methodist Cancer Center names Dr. Daniela Matei as next director

Cancer Clinician and Translational Scientist Dr. Daniela Matei will become the next director of the Houston Methodist Dr. Mary and Ron Neal Cancer Center following a national search, Houston Methodist officials announced in a Feb. 27 news release.

The details: Currently chief of the Division of Reproductive Science in Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Matei is an expert in ovarian cancer treatment and research, per the release.

What they’re saying: Chang said Matei’s vision will “enhance the momentum of our research enterprise and support our shared goal of turning scientific innovation into real-world impact for patients.”

What’s next? Matei will begin her role as director in April, per the release.
