Timeline for $2.22M Tinker Road construction in Colleyville receives extension

The construction on Tinker Road in Colleyville will continue through the fall.

What’s happening: Assistant City Manager Adrienne Lothery said in an Aug. 25 email that the $2.2 million project now has an estimated completion of late October or early November.

According to the city's website, the work started the week of Feb. 15 and was slated to be done in six or seven months.

Tinker Road is closed from Ponderosa Road to Caldwell Hughes Road and traffic is only able to travel eastbound in the work zone, according to the city website.

Talking Animals Books to add second location in Grapevine

Talking Animal Books in Grapevine will open a second location on Main Street, according to a news release from the business.

The details: The new location will be larger than the original spot off Worth Street in Grapevine. The second bookstore will include a coffee bar serving espresso, tea, pastries and wine tastings.

“We’ve grown alongside our readers,” said Valerie Walizadeh, co-founder of Talking Animals Books. “This new location is more than just a bookstore; it’s a place to gather, explore ideas, and now we can enjoy coffee and wine while surrounded by stories. We’re inviting our community once again to help us write the next chapter."

Multisensory immersive experience Bubble Planet to arrive at Grapevine Mills this fall

A new immersive experience is opening this fall in Grapevine with interactive concepts.

The details: The Bubble Planet exhibit offers 12 interactive rooms for a full sensory experience for guests of all ages at Grapevine Mills, according to a news release.

From hanging balloons to a kaleidoscope room, the exhibit will offer a variety of photo opportunities and “playful moments designed to awaken the inner child,” an exhibit representative said.

Customers can sign up for the Dallas waitlist of Bubble Planet now or buy tickets starting Sept. 2 at 8 a.m.

GCISD officials hires appraiser for district property, approves education planning committee

 
The Grapevine-Colleyville ISD board of trustees hired an appraiser for property the district plans to sell and approved a committee to provide financial recommendations for the district at the Aug. 25 board meeting.

The gist: GCISD officials appropriated $20,000 for a property appraiser to determine the fair market price for the Heritage Annex property, which is located on Heritage Avenue near Hall Johnson Road in Grapevine, according to district documents.

More details: The board of trustees approved the education master planning committee for the 2025-26 fiscal year during the Aug. 25 meeting, as well. The committee will provide recommendations for reducing facility and program-related costs and increasing facility and program-related revenue, according to district documents.

Musume is open in Frisco’s The Star District, a company representative said. Other Musume locations are open in Dallas and Fort Worth.

Musume at The Star’s menu includes sushi and sashimi made with fresh fish flown in daily from Japan as well as authentic Asian cuisine offered in both small and large plates, vegetarian and vegan dishes, salads, tempura and ramen. It also features a six-or-eight course Omakase curated daily by chef Yuzo Toyama, a company news release states.
