Colleyville Florist offers flower arrangements, hosts classes in The Village

Colleyville Florist reopened in Colleyville Oct. 1 after operating a floral shop in Hurst, owner Rachel Williams said. 

The details: The shop will sell flower arrangements, host classes, participate in community events and collaborate with other businesses, Williams said.  The new shop has a space to feature local artists that have pieces for sale, she said. The display will rotate out every couple of months and artists can reach out to Williams to feature their work.

Grapevine Graphics & Print celebrates 20th year with ribbon cutting at new location

Grapevine Graphics & Print celebrated its 20th anniversary with a ribbon-cutting for a new facility.

The details: Owner Jake Garcia started the business at NJ Graphic Design in 2005, holding his first ribbon-cutting on Aug. 25, 2005. The business moved to a new location in January 2025, Garcia said. From 2005 to 2024, the business was located at 203 E. Worth St.

Zooming in: Garcia said the business provides full design on logos, ads, posters, flyers and wall graphics.

What else? According to its website, Grapevine Graphics & Print was named the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame in 2014.

Caribou Coffee offers coffee, baked goods in Grapevine

Caribou Coffee in Grapevine opened in late September, according to a company social media post. Company officials also held a ribbon cutting Oct. 3.

What you need to know: The coffee shop offers several kinds of coffee drinks, including cappuccinos, lattes and espresso, in addition to bakery items and sandwiches, according to the menu. The Grapevine coffee shop is open for pickup, drive-thru and to-go orders, and only has exterior seating, according to a company news release.

New York-based tech company to run Texas’ education savings account program

Odyssey, a New York-based tech company, has been selected to manage Texas’ $1 billion education savings account program, the state comptroller’s office announced Oct. 6.

The overview: Odyssey will work with the comptroller to launch the program, deemed “Texas Education Freedom Accounts,” ahead of the 2026-27 school year. Families can begin applying for the program early next year, and those accepted will receive thousands of dollars in state funds to send their children to private school or homeschool them.

Zooming in: Odyssey will develop and manage an online platform to administer Texas’ education savings account program. State law also tasks the company with:

  • Collecting applications and determining which families are accepted to the program
  • Approving vendors for education-related materials and services, such as textbooks, transportation and tutoring
  • Reviewing inquiries and complaints about the program
  • Advertising the program and communicating with interested families 

Odyssey operates similar education savings account programs in Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Utah and Wyoming.
