Industrial Boulevard reconstructionThe project will replace street panels on Industrial Boulevard’s northern side following reconstruction to the southern side in 2018.

Hwy. 90A reconstruction: The project aims to reconstruct Hwy. 90A between Cunningham Creek Boulevard to Gateway Boulevard to relieve congestion, improve drainage and expedite travel.

Lexington Boulevard reconstruction: The project included a full reconstruction of the four-lane section of Lexington Boulevard from Laurel Green Road to Lexington Grove Drive. Drainage and pedestrian improvements were also included.

The Tox now offering sculpting facials, massages in Sugar Land

The Tox has now opened its doors in Sugar Land offering lymphatic facials and body sculpting, officials confirmed.

How it works: The business offers several body sculpting, wellness and contour options, including facial sculpting and treatments designed to improve lymphatic health, according to its website.

Services are intended to reduce bloating in the face and body, increase circulation and boost metabolism.

June HAR report shows market growth, increase in pending sales

The June Housing Market Update from the Houston Association of Realtors reports a rise in home sales and pending activity with steady overall pricing.

By the numbers: The number of single-family homes sold increased by 3.5%, with 8,820 homes sold in June compared to last June with 8,525 sold. The average home price rose 1.2% to $455,159, while the median home price slightly decreased by just 0.3%.

Total property sales across the Houston area rose by 2.6% with 10,181 properties sold, and the number of active property listings increased 2.2%, equaling 59,970.

Also of note: The luxury market remained strong with home sales over the price of $1 million rising 17.1% year over year.

However, the townhome and condominium market showed a 9.3% fall year over year with 439 in June compared to 484 last June, data shows.

In their own words: HAR Chair Theresa Hill said the Greater Houston area is seeing a “little more breathing room” on both sides of the transaction.

Officials with Common Bond celebrated a June 29 opening of their new location at Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport, according to a June 29 news release.

The details: The new Common Bond location combines the brand's to-go concept with its bistro and bakery options to offer both on-the-go and dine-in options, per the release.

Items on the eatery's menu include:

  • Pastries
  • Salads
  • Cakes
  • Cookies
  • Drip coffee and lattes
  • Iced refreshers and energy drinks

What else? Common Bond opened its first bistro and bakery in Houston’s Montrose area in May 2014, according to the release.
