Renovated Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center reopens in Plano

Plano’s Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center has officially reopened after an 11-month closure, according to a news release from city officials.

The details: Plano Parks and Recreation celebrated the project’s completion with a grand reopening Dec. 4, and regular operations resumed at 5 a.m. the following day.

The big picture: Voters approved funds for the center’s renovation as part of the 2021 bond referendum. The 2021 bond also provided $231 million for street improvements and $81.9 million for improvements to parks and recreational facilities.

A new McDonald’s recently opened in Plano’s Coit Marketplace, a company representative said.

On the menu: The fast food franchise serves a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options including McMuffins, burgers, fries and more.

Restaurateur Fernando Barrera, who owns Latin Deli in Dallas, recently opened Josefina’s Cocina in Richardson.

What they serve: The menu, which features breakfast, lunch and dinner options, includes nachos, fajitas, chilaquiles, enchiladas, salads and more. Breakfast items, including omelettes, crepes and waffles, are served all day. The drink menu features fruit margaritas, desert cocktails, cervezas, tequilas and mezcales.
