The Muse Mantra School of Music & Arts is expanding its musical talents to the Spring-Klein area, Founder and Director Tarab Ali confirmed.

The details: The music school provides private music instruction for children, teens and adults, offering opportunities for students to “perform, grow in confidence and enjoy making music,” according to a news release. The school was founded in 2020, with its first location in The Woodlands.

The Spring location will offer private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, drums, violin, viola, cello, ukulele, flute, clarinet and other woodwinds, per the release. It will also provide adapted music lessons, music production and early childhood music programs.

During a Sept. 14 regular board meeting, the Klein ISD board unanimously approved a Certification of Compliance, which Texas school districts must submit annually by Sept. 30 starting with the 2026-27 school year.

The details: Chief academic officer Anthony Indelicato announced several district achievements, including maintaining a 'B' rating with 88 out of 100 points.

Other achievements include:

• The class of 2026 reaching a record $115.3 million in scholarships

• An increase in advanced courses completed, with over 4,000 students earning nearly 22,000 college credit hours

Texas does not have a single system to connect first responders in emergencies, meaning local and state agencies often operate on a network of radio systems that are not always compatible with one another.

The big picture: State leaders said there are more than 50 different radio systems used by first responder agencies across Texas.

"We have situations where counties and cities are on separate ones, and they never know it until they have to [communicate with] each other," state Rep. Ken King, R-Canadian, said during a Sept. 14 legislative hearing.

Looking ahead: King has vowed to pass a bill to integrate first responder communications under a statewide system during the 2027 legislative session, with some emergency management experts calling interagency communications "the No. 1 issue" in the aftermath of disasters.

"[This] is not simply a communication issue—it's a responder safety issue and an operational effectiveness issue," said Kyle Mills, head of planning and preparedness for the Texas A&M Forest Service.
