The Understudies improv comedy show 

DFW-based improv comedy troupe The Understudies Comedy is holding its first Grapevine show this month. The unscripted, audience-driven show is always different and offers a PG-13 experience. Tickets include three food & drink vouchers.

Yesterday to Today Car Show

Enjoy looking at cars from multiple eras at this event which seeks to raise donations for the Tarrant Area Food Bank. There will be awards given out in 10 different categories judged by local celebrities. The event will also include food trucks and activities for kids like bounce houses and voting for their favorite vehicle.

California-based Flip Flop Shops opened its second Texas location in Grapevine Mills.

The store sells flip flops and sandals from brands like Olukai, Cobian, Crocs, Havaianas and will have Birkenstocks in the store soon.

Flip Flop Shops specializes in casual, comfortable footwear and offers several waterproof options.

  1. Bucketheads

Bucketheads opened a new boutique in Grapevine.

The boutique sells clothing for men, women and children, along with shoes from brands such as Back 70 and Birkenstock. Customers can also shop the store for home decor, jewelry and gifts.

The Grapevine location is the third Bucketheads store, with others in Abilene and Lubbock, according to its website.

Two candidates are running for the Denton County Judge seat in the Nov. 3 election.

What you need to know: Republican incumbent Andy Eads will face Democratic challenger Nick Pappas.

City of Denton, DCTA launch park-and-ride service for Halloween events

With Halloween festivities beginning in Denton, the city partnered with the Denton County Transit Authority to create a park-and-ride option for visitors during the weekend events.

The details: Starting Oct. 3, visitors can use the ride share on Saturdays and Sundays to safely get around downtown Denton for Halloween activities, according to the city’s social media pages.

The ride-share option will run from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays. The ride shares will be available until Nov. 8.

The service will go from Golden Triangle Mall at 2001 I-35 E. and run to either the Oak/Oakland lot at 301 E. Oak St. or the city’s development services center at 401 N. Elm St.

What else: North Central Texas College also partnered with the city to provide public parking at 319 Sycamore St. during the following days and hours:

  • Thursdays: 5-8 p.m.

  • Fridays: 5-10 p.m.

  • Saturdays: 2-10 p.m.

  • Sundays: 2-10 p.m.
