Early voting totals, things to know ahead of the March 3 primary election in Bexar County

Residents of North San Antonio can cast their ballots from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. March 3 in either the Democratic or Republican primaries. The election will include multiple local positions, including Bexar County judge.

The details: Bexar County residents can vote at designated polling centers throughout the county, with local options including:

  • Shavano Park City Hall: 900 Saddletree Court, Shavano Park
  • Brook Hollow Branch Library: 530 Heimer Road, San Antonio
  • Hill Country Village City Hall: 116 Aspen Lane, San Antonio

On the ballot: Voters will be able to vote in multiple federal, state and local elections. Republican primary races include the Texas governor, lieutenant governor, Texas House District 121 and Texas House District 118. Democratic primary races include Texas governor, lieutenant governor, Texas agriculture commissioner, Texas land commissioner and Bexar County judge.

North East ISD to hold elections for three board of trustees positions

During its Feb. 9 meeting, the North East ISD board of trustees voted to hold an election for three positions May 2.

What you need to know: According to NEISD’s website, the district will hold elections for board members for Districts 2, 3 and 7.

District 2 incumbent and business owner Tracie Shelton is running unopposed, while District 3 incumbent Diane Sciba Villarreal is running against insurance investigator Michael Adam Wulczyn. District 7 incumbent Marsha Landry will not be running for reelection, with the race being between Realtor Cherly Ann Eltinger and stay-at-home parent Caprice Ann Garcia.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar now open near Huebner Oaks in San Antonio

A new gourmet burger restaurant has opened its doors in San Antonio.

In case you missed it: Hopdoddy Burger Bar opened a new location at 11267 Huebner Road on March 3, according to a news release.

It’s the burger chain’s third overall location in the greater San Antonio area.

It’s located inside The Strand shopping center, close to the Huebner Oaks shopping area on the city’s North Side.

What’s special about it? Hopdoddy Burger Bar specializes in gourmet, specialty burgers. Popular menu items include The Cadillac Burger and The Wagyu Smash, according to the news release.

There is also craft beer, a full cocktail bar and hand-spun milkshakes available at the new location.

Founded in 2010, Hopdoddy Burger Bar has over 30 locations across Texas, with various other restaurants across the country. In the future, the chain looks to continue expansion in Texas, CEO Jeff Chandler said in the release.

Planning to vote in Texas on Tuesday? Here’s what to know before heading to the polls

Primary election day in Texas is March 3. With dozens of state, regional and local races on the ballot, voters in the Republican and Democratic primaries will determine their parties’ nominees for the November midterm election.

At the polls: Polling places across Texas will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. March 3, according to the secretary of state.

On election day, voters in the following counties in Community Impact’s coverage areas can vote at any polling location within their county of residence: Bastrop, Bexar, Brazoria, Brazos, Collin, Comal, Fort Bend, Galveston, Guadalupe, Harris, Hays, Tarrant and Travis. Registered voters in other counties are required to visit a polling place specific to their voting precinct.

Voters are required to bring photo identification to the polls.

On the ballot: Voters will choose their political parties’ nominees for the U.S. Senate, seven state offices, 10 state judicial seats, 38 congressional seats, nearly all state legislative seats and over half of the State Board of Education. Candidates who win their primaries will advance to the November ballot.
