McKinney residents and visitors will have a chance to visit McKinney National Airport and view a variety of aircraft up close in October.
The gist: The airport is hosting a Display Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 25 at 1508 Industrial Blvd. Admission and parking for the event is free. Food and beverages will be available for purchase, according to a city news release.
Attendants will be able to view a range of aircraft, including emergency medical services helicopters, drones, corporate jets, and Civil Air Patrol planes. In addition to the displays, local flight school officials will be present to provide information on aviation education opportunities.
If the event is rained out on Oct. 25, it will be rescheduled to Oct. 26.
Quote of note: “Many residents have not had a reason to visit McKinney National Airport yet,” McKinney National Airport Director Ken Carley said in a statement. “Display Day is a chance to see the aircraft based here and learn how the airport operates today."
