Colleyville’s proposed capital improvement program includes more than $35 million in drainage, streets and facilities projects.

Council members got an overview of the fiscal year 2026-27 capital improvement program during a work session July 21.

As part of the city’s budget adoption process, the list of projects in the capital improvement program will be finalized, according to a staff presentation.

The overview: Colleyville’s capital improvements program breaks down future projects over the course of five years and identifies a potential schedule and funding sources. For FY 2026-27, the total cost for all projects is $35.18 million, per the presentation.

“We have a variety of projects from various departments in the city,” Public Works and Parks and Recreation Director Lisa Escobedo said. “Some projects are multiyear or multifunded.”

Breaking it down: According to city documents, projects slated for the FY 2026-27 program include:

• $8.15 million for the voting center/recreation center construction
• $5 million for the low water crossing on Bedford Road

The details: Flip Flop Shops will be taking over the previous location for Squishable, which closed in late June.

American Express will expand its Centurion Lounge at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

The $35 million project, according to a state filing, will expand and renovate the lounge into a neighboring space near Gate D12 at Terminal D at DFW Airport.

The details: The expansion will make the lounge nearly 50% larger, adding more seating, a new dining area, a walk-up ice cream window and a second full-service bar, according to a news release.

The expected opening will be in 2027, according to a news release. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings show an estimated completion date for the 18,000-square-foot project of Nov. 19, 2027.

“American Express has long been at the forefront of the airport lounge experience, and we continue to build on that legacy and raise the bar as we grow our network,” said Audrey Hendley, American Express Travel president.

1. Pershing Drive utilities and roadway replacement
Project: Pershing Drive in Denton is receiving new water and wastewater lines, new roadway and portions of the sidewalk are being replaced. Denton voters approved the project as part of the Neighborhood 1B bond package.
Update: Crews are working to replace the driveway, curb and gutter with final paving to follow.
