About the business: Snatched Shapewear offers women's shaping shorts, bras, waist trainers and men's compressive garments, as well as post-operative support wear.

LCRA to lower Inks Lake starting Oct. 1; Lake Travis to rise by 3 inches

The Lower Colorado River Authority, which manages the Highland Lakes system in Central Texas, announced it would begin lowering Inks Lake for a period of eight weeks starting Oct. 1. 

In a nutshell: The LCRA announced Sept. 9 that the lake would be lowered to provide property owners an opportunity to work on docks and boat slips, as well as to remove debris from the lake and shoreline.

What residents should know: The lowering will cause Lake Travis, located downstream from Inks Lake, to rise by about 3.5 inches, according to a news release from the authority.

Italian-based Caracol opens U.S. headquarters in Pflugerville

The Italian-based advanced manufacturing company Caracol opened its U.S. headquarters in Pflugerville this month.

The overview: Caracol is an industrial 3D printer manufacturer that works with aerospace, construction, automotive, railway and other industries. The 10,000-square-foot facility production center in Pflugerville triples the company’s space for systems productions and application development, according to a news release.

The company’s Heron AM robotic platform prints parts in composite material with no shape or scale limits, while its Vipra AM system prints metal parts for various industrial machinery. Caracol’s new location also includes space to develop special projects for local manufacturing companies, providing access to the company’s engineering services, materials and product testings.
