1. Dallas North Tollway frontage road improvements

• Project: This project will renovate the sections of the future Dallas North Tollway’s northbound access roads from US 380 to Frontier Parkway.
• Update: Funding for the project was approved by voters in Prosper’s Nov. 4 bond election.

• Project: This project includes an asphalt restoration of Coit Road in three segments. The segments are A) CR 100 from Preston Road to CR 97, B) County Road 90 from CR 92 to CR 98, and C) CR 97 from Lynn Stambaugh Parkway to CR134.
• Update: The project is in the design phase and all the plans are ready for bidding.

A new Discount Tire location could be opening in Prosper, a company representative said in an email.

Zooming in: The representative said details regarding the location or opening timeline are not yet available, as the team is still in the “development stages” for the new store. The business will offer a number of vehicle maintenance services, including tire inspection and pressure checks, flat tire repair, and tire rotation and balancing.

• U.S. 380 and Teel Parkway, Prosper

Dallas Pulse, the first professional women’s volleyball team in North Texas, will play its inaugural home opener on Jan. 10 at Comerica Center in Frisco.

Zooming out: Dallas Pulse joins a number of sports teams that call Frisco home, including the Dallas Cowboys, FC Dallas and the PGA of America, according to the Frisco Economic Development Corp.'s website.

Stay tuned: The home opener is one of fourteen home games the Dallas Pulse will play at Comerica Center during the 2026 season. Fans can purchase season passes and single-game tickets on the team’s website.

Texas voters will see 18 statewide races on the ballot in 2026.

The overview: Texas will hold Republican and Democratic primary elections on March 3 to determine who will appear on the statewide ballot in November. Texas is one of 17 states with open primaries, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures, meaning registered voters can cast their ballots in either primary and do not need to register with a specific party.
