Plano commission to hold public hearing for Collin Creek redevelopment changes

Plano's planning and zoning commission approved a public hearing to be held for the Collin Creek redevelopment to potentially move the location of a planned hotel.

In a nutshell: Centurion American, the developers for the planned mixed-use development at the former Collin Creek Mall, is seeking to change the location for a planned 49,946 square-foot hotel on the development.

The background: Construction for the redevelopment is expected to continue through 2028, per previous reporting, with a large portion of the single-family and multifamily portion of the project expected to be completed by the end of 2026. Digging for an underground parking garage took place in 2025.

Chuck E. Cheese Adventure World planned for Plano's Creekwalk Village

One of six new Chuck E. Cheese Adventure World locations is planned to open in Plano before the end of the year.

The details: Chuck E. Cheese Adventure World is a multi-level indoor playground with a toddler zone, character entertainment, food and snacks and all-day access according to a company news release.

Two candidates are running for Collin County Commissioner Precinct 4 this November.

Early voting for the Nov. 3 election runs from Oct. 19-30.

The details: Former Plano Deputy Mayor Pro Tem and Democratic candidate Julie Holmer will be running against former Plano City Council Member and Republican candidate Shelby Williams this November. The Collin County Comissioner Precinct 4 position represents Plano, Allen and some of Carrollton and Dallas.

A six-story, 221-room hotel is planned to be constructed near Grapevine Mills, per a TDLR filing. Sandman Signature Hotels offer Canadian hospitality, comfort and style according to its website. A company spokesperson said Northland Properties closed on the 5.9-acre site in August.

Providence Church in Frisco has purchased a 27-acre site for a new church in Frisco, according to its website. The 61,645-square-foot facility will be constructed along Panther Creek Parkway, according to the TDLR filing.
