Phoenix Pho, a noodles and coffee bar, opened in the Alliance area of Fort Worth at the end of June, a store representative said.

The business held its official grand opening July 5, according to a social media post. 

On the menu: Phoenix Pho's menu offers Vietnamese classics with a twist, according to its website. Dishes include beef and chicken pho and the grilled pork vermicelli bowl and bun bo hue, which is vermicelli noodles with beef shank and pork sausage.

The store also has jasmine green tea, matcha, Vietnamese coffee, classic black coffee and milk tea, according to its website.

Bluegrass Legacy Group, a financial advising business, will expand its footprint in Old Town Keller.

The overview: Keller City Council approved a specific use permit during the July 7 meeting to allow the financial planning service business to add 1,059 square feet of space at 118 W. Olive St.

In addition, council passed a Chapter 380 economic development agreement with the company. Managing Partner Kyle Gabhart requested a facade improvement grant for the expansion and will receive a $10,000 grant.

The details According to the presentation, the addition will feature three offices, a restroom, a covered porch and storage area that will be attached to the existing 900-square-foot building.

The total project cost for work on the front of the building is $173,000. The grant will cover $10,000 of the $38,900 planned for exterior work, according to documents presented by contractor Kingdom Construction.

Project: The work will cover the rehabilitation of around 2,950 linear feet of Burney Lane/Midway Road from the intersection of Lonesome Dove Road in Southlake until Meadowmere Lane in Grapevine, according to city documents.
Update: Grapevine City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County for the project during a July 7 meeting.

Southwest Airlines celebrates the 55th anniversary of its first flight on June 18.
The Dallas-based airline’s first revenue flight departed from Dallas Love Field on June 18, 1971, bound for San Antonio, according to the company’s website.

The background: The company was founded by Herb Kelleher, filing with the state of Texas to establish Air Southwest Co. on March 9, 1967. A legal battle followed until the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Kelleher and Rollin King in December of 1970 to clear the way to start operations. The company changed its name to Southwest Airlines Co. on March 29, 1971.
Initially, the company only flew routes within Texas, but now has 52 destinations listed from Dallas Love Field. According to the website, Southwest now operates out of 121 airports across 12 countries.
