ROUNDUP: See who’s leading early voting in Missouri City races

Early voting totals from the Nov. 4 election are in for the city of Missouri City’s mayor position and three City Council seats.

What residents need to know: Early voting results from Fort Bend County show incumbent Robin J. Elackatt is leading the mayoral race with 5,133 votes, followed by Jeffrey L. Boney with 3,984 votes.

Meanwhile, incumbent Sonya Brown-Marshall leads the City Council At-Large Position 1 race with 6,225 votes, followed by Shad Bogany with 2,588 votes.

Additionally, incumbent Lynn Clouser has taken the lead in the At-Large Position 2 race with 6,492 votes, followed by Dinishi Abayarathna with 1,818 votes and Bruce Zaborowski with 553 votes.

What else: The city is also hosting a special election for District B, which is an unexpired seat vacated as Boney runs for mayor. The winners will hold the seats until term expiration in November 2027.

Early voting results show Sharita L. Thompson is leading the District B race with 1,417 votes, trailed by James Davidson is with 821 votes.

Lamar Consolidated ISD residents are weighing in on a $1.99 billion bond to fund new schools, stadium improvements and technology in the Nov. 4 election.

At the polls: Fort Bend County early voting data shows Lamar CISD voters favor four of the five district’s propositions, including:

  • 7,222 voters favoring Proposition A for new campus builds and improvements, as well as land purchase
  • 7,141 voters favoring Proposition C for a technology refresh, including outdated technology hardware and updating graphic arts equipment
  • 6,840 voters favoring Proposition D for funding for student devices to ensure a 1-to-1 laptop ratio for students

However, early voters did not favor Proposition B for Guy K. Traylor Stadium improvements, with 6,196 voters for and 7,077 voters against.

By the numbers: Fort Bend County saw 47,325 voters cast their ballots during early voting Oct. 20-31, according to early voting statistics from Fort Bend County. Early voters represented nearly 8.44% of the county's 560,979 registered voters.

Texas voters weighed in on 17 proposed amendments to the state constitution during the Nov. 4 election.

The overview: Some of the state propositions on the ballot included:

  • Proposition 1: new funding to support the Texas State Technical College System
  • Proposition 3: tighter restrictions on when Texas judges can grant bail for felony offenses
  • Proposition 4: $20 billion for water supply projects and infrastructure
  • Proposition 9: a $125,000 property tax exemption for businesses
  • Propositions 11 and 13: expanded property tax exemptions for Texas homeowners
  • Proposition 14: $3 billion to create a state dementia research institute
