Richardson City Council unanimously approved $5 million for renovations at Sherrill Park Golf Course at its Aug. 17 meeting. The funding will support installation of the golf course’s new training center and maintenance barn addition, which are expected to be completed by March 2027.

The overview: Richardson announced the construction of the new training center in February 2025, which is set to include two hitting bays to allow lessons to be conducted in all weather. The center will also house a specialized fitting facility in partnership with golf equipment company Titleist, its first fitting center in North Texas.

At the fitting center, a Titleist Fitting Professional will work one-on-one with golfers to optimize their golf clubs based on their own individual performance.

K.C Hairbraiding is now open in Richardson’s Campbell Plaza Shopping Center, according to a social media announcement.

Curry Tei and Bar had a soft opening in downtown Plano in early August.

What's on the menu: The restaurant specializes in Japanese curry and “izakaya-style” appetizers, owner Michelle Le said in an email. Izakaya refers to a Japanese pub. Curry Tei & Bar also serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
