Key Information
Friendswood bond survey closing soon

Friendswood residents have until June 30 to complete the city’s bond proposition survey.

What you need to know: At a June 1 City Council meeting, Friendswood’s Bond Ad Hoc committee, which consists of 35 citizens across the city, presented a potential $50.9 million bond that could be listed on the November ballot. The potential bond targets improvements for drainage, parks and recreation, streets and transportation as well as city facilities.

Diving in deeper: The survey allows residents to rate their quality of life in Friendswood, prioritize bond project categories and asks if residents would be willing to pay more in taxes in support of the bond categories, among other questions.

Cost to the taxpayers: If the bond proposal is approved by council as is and eventually passed by voters in November, the maximum estimated tax rate increase would be $0.01 per $100 valuation.
