Northwest ISD will remain closed Friday, Jan. 30 due to poor road conditions, according to the latest district announcement.

The details: The district will remain closed out of an abundance of caution for families and district staff, according to a district social media post.

"Much of [the remaining] ice continues to pool throughout parking lots and sidewalks and is likely to refreeze," the post states. "Roads used by a large number of buses also remain in poor conditions."

An announcement from Keller ISD states it will reopen district campuses and facilities Friday, Jan. 30, after a four-day closure due to winter weather.

The gist: The district's facilities team is continuing to clear campus walkways for safe entry, according to a social media post.

Warmer temperatures contributed to improved road conditions, and families are encouraged to account for extra travel time and watch for ice in shaded areas.

The Texas Department of Public Safety assumed primary responsibility for the crash investigation. Northlake, Roanoke and Trophy Club police departments worked together to shut down westbound lanes to ensure public safety.
