1. Backyard Beekeeping workshop: The Collin County Hobby Beekeepers Association will host a workshop where attendees will learn about the role of bees in the ecosystem, learn how to create bee-friendly habitats and start a beehive.

3. Arts In Bloom Festival: During this three-day festival in downtown McKinney, event attendees can see art from over 125 local, regional and nationally recognized artists. Uptown Cheapskate begins buying gently worn clothing in McKinney’s 380 Marketplace

Uptown Cheapskate recently opened to buy merchandise in McKinney’s 380 Marketplace, a company representative said. A grand opening will be scheduled in April once the store is filled with merchandise, the representative said.

The details: Uptown Cheapskate sells gently-used clothing and accessories that are in excellent condition. The company focuses on buying current trends and unique finds for men and women.

Bojangles serves up chicken, more in McKinney

Fried chicken chain Bojangles has opened its first McKinney location.

On the menu: Bojangles serves chicken dishes, including chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders, according to its website. The restaurant also serves breakfast, including the chicken biscuit sandwich and the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit sandwich.

The context: The company has over 850 locations in 22 states, and the McKinney restaurant is the company’s eight in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, a company news release states.
