Allen officials are expanding the city’s fall prevention initiative.

Following the successful rollout of the first two phases, the Allen Fire Department is bringing its Steady Together project to four additional senior living facilities, according to a city news release.

The specifics: The project aims to reduce fall-related injuries by 20% over the next three years through education, home safety assessments and other resources. Phase 3 of the Steady Together project began in July with the goal of providing resources to approximately 500 additional residents, the release states. In the past month, members of the Allen Fire Department have provided four additional fall prevention lessons and completed 36 home safety visits, according to the release.

By the numbers: Resources provided during Phase 1 included:

• 61 home safety visits
• 16 individualized fall prevention lessons
• 280 free environmental modifications, including grabber tools, nonslip bath mats, grab bars, smoke alarms and more

Racing Miami is now open at the Allen Premium Outlets, a company representative said.

More than 150 restaurants throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area will take part in the 30th annual DFW Restaurant Week.

The gist: The event officially runs from Aug. 10 to Sept. 7, however, some restaurants will do a preview weekend Aug. 6-9, according to the DFW Restaurant Week website. The culinary event will feature prix fixe menu dining options ranging from $29 to $99, with 20% of the cost donated to the North Texas Food Bank or Lena Pope in Tarrant County. Lena Pope offers mental health options, counseling, substance abuse counseling and early learning centers, according to its website.

By the numbers: Restaurants in Dallas raised $505,235 for North Texas Food Bank, while restaurants in Tarrant County raised $176,092 for Lena Pope, according to the website.

The details: Restaurant Week launches Aug. 10-16, but many restaurants will extend the special menu through Labor Day, according to the website. Participating eateries are located in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton and Rockwall counties.

1. Prosper Trail construction
Project: Prosper Trail will undergo a full pavement reconstruction from Coit Road to Custer Road. The new pavement section will be a four-lane concrete divided roadway.
