Prosper council adds rules for DNT development, dual-brand hotels

Prosper officials are moving forward with new ordinances to support development along the future Dallas North Tollway.

In a nutshell: Town officials set new standards for the Dallas North Tollway District in February, and town staff are working to incorporate those standards into the town’s ordinances, Director of Development Services David Hoover said.

Sorting out details: The tollway development standards the town set in February include guidance on landscaping, open space and parking that were incorporated into the town’s development code.

What else: The amendments also included clarification on dual-brand hotels, a model where two hotel brands operate a shared facility. Under the new definition, any dual-brand hotel in Prosper must include at least one full-service hotel brand, and dual-brand hotels will be subject to special approval from council.
