Two individuals, Kara Latimer and Terry Hinze, are vying for the Cibolo mayoral seat ahead of the November 4 election.
In case you missed it: The winning candidate will replace Mark Allen, who was elected in November 2022 after serving as the District 5 City Council member, according to previous reporting by Community Impact.
Latimer and Hinze ran for mayor in November 2022. Latimer received 1,523 of 9,069 possible votes, or 16.79%, while Hinze received 1,033 votes, or 11.39%, according to official election results from Guadalupe County.

New Acura dealer set to break ground near San Antonio
A new car dealership is on its way into the Live Oak area.
What we know: Team Gillman Automotive—a Houston-based dealership group—is planning to open a new Acura dealership serving the Alamo City soon. However, Loma Architecture, the designers of the new showroom, said a timeline is still unknown for when the project will begin. The architecture company designs automotive retail spaces, according to their website.
The dealership will be located just off of Loop 1604 at 14350 Lookout Road with a sign indicating that the showroom is coming soon.
JonSan Home Health care provider now open in Schertz
Health service provider JonSan Home Health has opened a brick-and-mortar location in Schertz.
What you need to know: The business—owned by Sandra Crady—opened on Sept. 9 at 9900 Doerr Lane. JonSan Home Health previously operated as a home-based business servicing 30 counties in Central Texas.
Director of Business Development Mindy Paxton said JonSan Home Health celebrated its 10-year anniversary in April and offers nursing and physical therapy services.
“Our mission is to deliver high-quality, cost-effective and outstanding in-home health care services based on the needs of our patients,” Paxton said in an email to Community Impact.
JonSan Home Health also offers occupational therapy, speech therapy and aide services.
What to know about the 17 state propositions on the Nov. 4 ballot
Texas voters will decide on 17 proposed amendments to the state constitution during the Nov. 4 election.
The overview: The propositions, which were adopted by state lawmakers earlier this year, include measures aimed at reducing property taxes, funding water supply projects and creating a state dementia research institute.
“This is an opportunity to make your voice heard about the governing document of our state,” Secretary of State Jane Nelson said in a June 25 statement.
More details: Texans have until Oct. 6 to register to vote in the upcoming election. Early in-person voting runs from Oct. 20-31, and Election Day is Nov. 4.
