Portion of Creekside Loop Trail closed through 2026 as Harrell Parkway work continues

A portion of the Creekside Loop Trail at Old Settlers Park is closed as construction continues on the Harrell Parkway reconstruction project.

What you need to know: The closure affects a segment of the 1.3-mile paved trail near Harrell Parkway, where crews are elevating the trail out of the floodplain. The work is intended to improve long-term safety and accessibility for pedestrians. Construction in the area is expected to continue through the end of the year, with the trail scheduled to reopen in January 2027.

Beauty retailer Sephora to open store in Round Rock Premium Outlets

A new retailer is set to bring hair, skin and makeup products as well as fragrance to the Round Rock Premium Outlets this summer. 

About the business: Sephora will open a standalone shop in the outlet mall this summer, according to a representative of Simon Malls. The beauty retailer carries a wide selection of products including skin and haircare, makeup and fragrance. 

The details: Sephora will open within the outlet mall across from the Puma and Auntie Anne's shops.

Cupprimo at the Lake now serving cupcakes and more in Lakeway

Locally owned by Amy Closson, the shop's daily menu includes quiche, coffee and seven cupcake flavors available every day of the week: red velvet, blue velvet, tuxedo, strawberry, birthday cake, double chocolate and primo vanilla.

There are also special cupcake flavors available on certain days of the week such as lemon raspberry on Mondays and whiskey brownie on Fridays, as well as mystery cupcake flavors on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Toasted Yolk Cafe now serving breakfast, brunch, lunch in Round Rock

The Toasted Yolk Cafe opened Jan. 26 in Round Rock.

The cafe offers a menu centered around the morning and mid-day meals, as well as specialty donuts and beverages. This includes breakfast burritos, different takes on toast, salads, soups, sandwiches and cocktails from the restaurant's full bar.

Shelly's Heart and Soul Food recently opened in Hutto.

The gist: The food truck, located within The Shoppes at Affordable Storage in Hutto, serves a a variety of soul food. The menu features hand-breaded catfish fillets and wings, with sides such as collard greens, rice and beans, macaroni and cheese, corn bread muffins, fries and grits.

The food truck also serves breakfast options, including the Messiah's Mess, which comes with eggs, bacon and cheese on Texas toast.
