A new sportswear shop is now open at the Round Rock Premium Outlets.

About the business: JD Sports, a retailer of popular sportswear and sneaker brands, opened in a space between Lids and PacSun at the outlet mall in January, according to a representative of Simon Malls.

Businesses, entrepreneurs receive Round Rock Chamber honors

The Round Rock Chamber 58th Annual Business Awards was held at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Round Rock Feb. 5, celebrating the community’s most accomplished businesses, leaders and organizations.

See which companies and entrepreneurs came out on top.

Overview: Frost Bank was named the Round Rock Chamber’s Business of the Year. Other finalists included A+ Federal Credit Union and Texas Baptist Children’s Home.

The Best Place to Work award was given to Express Commercial Cleaning, with Hearthstone Nursing & Rehabilitation and the Round Rock Area Serving Center also being named finalists.

Purely Provisions received the Newcomer of the Year award. The local eater on Main Street was named a finalist along with Beacon Hospice and Coffee Milk Media.

Amy's Ice Creams opens new location in Hutto

Amy’s Ice Creams is now open in Hutto.

The gist: The Austin-based ice cream shop offers handcrafted scoops with flavors like Mexican vanilla, Belgian chocolate, Zilker mint chip, coffee and more. The new location will also offer pre-made ice cream cakes and chocolate-covered strawberries.

“We’re beyond excited to join the Hutto community,” Erin Stanley, director of production and Hutto resident, said in a news release. “This new shop allows us to share what we love most: great ice cream, great people, and moments worth celebrating.”
