Officials with Jungle Head Spa celebrated an April 26 grand opening of their new Kingwood location, according to the business’ Facebook page.

The details: With rooms and spaces inspired by nature, Jungle Head Spa offers traditional scalp therapy with deep-tissue facial, neck, shoulder and hand treatments, according to the business’ website.

Across the six ZIP codes that make up Community Impact's Lake Houston-Humble-Kingwood coverage area, data for June 2026 compared with data for June 2025 shows: 

  • Approximately seven fewer homes were sold.
  • The median price of homes sold decreased in all but one ZIP code: 77338.
  • On average, homes stayed on the market longer in all ZIP codes and sold faster in 77338.
  • Nearly 73% of homes sold in June were in the $200,000-$399,999 price range.

Christian Youth Theater Houston celebrates 20 years of musical theater education

On June 20, Christian Youth Theater Houston celebrated its 20th season with a red carpet event, Community Engagement Director Mary Ramsower confirmed. The fine arts company’s first summer camps were held in 2006, and it has since provided the Greater Houston area with musical theater education for two decades.

The background: CYT is a national after-school theater arts training program dedicated to helping kids and teens grow in their singing, dancing, acting, improvisation and technical skills.

Offered in two-hour classes throughout the school year, students can receive individualized training from instructors in the discipline of their choosing, according to the company’s website.

Another detail: With branches nationwide, CYT allows enrolled students ages 8-18 to audition for productions.

Looking ahead: Tickets for CYT Houston’s Aug. 7-16 production of “The Wizard of Oz” at The Crighton Theatre went on sale early June. Patrons can visit the website to secure their seats, as well as find out more information regarding showtimes, pricing and the venue’s address.

Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center marks 10 years of providing support

Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center marked its 10-year anniversary this year with a June 22 event at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center.

The center opened in 2016 to provide support for patients and caregivers experiencing cancer, and it now provides more than 45 programs and other services free of charge for anyone impacted by cancer, regardless of where they received treatment, according to a news release.

What they offer: In the past year, the center has:

  • Logged 1,200 monthly guest encounters for patients and families both during and after treatment
  • Offered more than 45 unique programs and services, including gentle exercise, nutrition, education and social support
  • Facilitated more than 250 complimentary wig fittings and customized prosthesis or bra fittings for individuals
