Prosper ISD names lone finalist for superintendent vacancy

Prosper ISD’s Board of Trustees named Greg Bradley as the lone finalist for superintendent at a special meeting on Sept. 30.

Quote of note: "When the board began this search, we were looking for a leader who understands what makes Prosper ISD special. No one understands that better than Dr. Bradley," Board President Kelly Cavender said in a Sept. 30 district news release.

About the candidate: Bradley is no stranger to PISD. He served the district in various roles from 2012 to 2025, according to the release:

  • Principal of Reynolds Middle School, 2012-2017

  • Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations, 2017-2020

  • Deputy Superintendent, 2020-2025

Kid Approved Pediatrics to open downtown Celina location this fall

Kid Approved Pediatrics, a children’s healthcare provider based in Frisco, is planning a November opening date for its Celina expansion, Chief Medical Officer Lilyan Blatt said.

The local impact: Kid Approved Pediatrics chose downtown Celina for its second location because many of its existing clients were families from Prosper and Celina, Blatt said.

Quote of note: “We are thrilled to become part of the Celina community and look forward to building lasting relationships with local families,” Practice Manager Heather Agha said in a statement.

NTMWD approves $978M fiscal year budget for 2027

The North Texas Municipal Water District’s fiscal year 2026-27 budget is increasing about 8% from the previous year, according to a news release.

The full story: NTMWD’s board of directors approved the $978 million budget during a Sept. 24 meeting. The budget allocates funding for the organization’s regional water and wastewater systems that stretch throughout North Texas.

The context: NTMWD provides wholesale water, wastewater and solid waste management services for multiple cities including Allen, Frisco, McKinney, Plano and Richardson, according to its website. The organization funds its budget through wholesale rate charges to member cities and customer cities, according to the news release.

Breaking down the budget: The FY2026-27 budget projects $978.4 million in expenditures and nearly $977.7 million in revenues, according to the budget document. Expenditures are increasing from last year’s original budget , which projected $902.4 million in expenses.

Capital investments related to increasing capacity and maintaining infrastructure are “main drivers of the rising costs,” the news release states.
