Frisco ISD’s dual credit partnership with Collin College has been renewed for three years.

The gist: During a Sept. 21 board meeting, the Frisco ISD Board of Trustees approved a consent agenda item renewing the contract. The district has partnered with Collin College to offer dual credit courses since 1987.

The renewed contract extends dual credit services through July 31, 2029, according to board documents.

Alora Hospitality Group, a North Texas-based hospitality and restaurant development group, acquired an equity interest in Frisco’s Rail Yard.

The gist: The new partnership plans to honor the Frisco Rail Yard legacy while making capital improvements designed to elevate the guest experience, expand and diversify food options and create an environment that serves families and adults.

Alora Hospitality Group currently operates four properties in Frisco: Three Empires Brewing Co., Elaine’s Cocktail Kitchen, Verona Villa and Board & Bread Charcuterie Boards.

Two candidates are running for the Denton County Judge seat in the Nov. 3 election.

1. DSV warehouse in Denton: A transportation and logistics company founded in Denmark is remodeling and expanding an existing warehouse space for its new facility in Denton, per a TDLR filing.

2. Colovore Alliance data center in Fort Worth: Construction on a new data center is expected to begin before the end of the year at AllianceTexas, per a TDLR filing.

• Estimated timeline: Dec. 1, 2026-2028

• Estimated cost: $430 million

Six new restaurants are now open in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, offering a variety of dining experiences:

• LSA Burger Co. opened Aug. 13 in Celina, featuring a menu named after Texas music legends.
• BreadHaus opened Sept. 5 in Frisco, offering scratch-made artisan baked goods free of commercial yeast, preservatives and artificial additives.
• Luna Loco opened Aug. 21 in Keller, serving Mexican favorites like tostadas, enchiladas, street tacos and burritos.
• PopUp Bagels opened Aug. 21 in McKinney, selling bagels by the bag alongside a choice of several schmears.
• Original ChopShop opened Sept. 23 in Richardson, serving protein bowls, salads, sandwiches, all-day breakfast, juices and protein shakes.
• Hudson House opened Sept. 14 in Southlake, featuring a menu with burgers, sushi, a raw bar and martinis.
