Colleyville City Council approved contracts for median beautification projects and an update to a design contract for a city facility at a Sept. 1 meeting.

Council members also approved updating a development agreement for a proposed senior living facility.

1. Fiscal year 2025-26 green ribbon projects: Council approved an advance funding agreement worth nearly $290,000 with Central North Construction, LLC. The contract will cover two green ribbon projects for the 2025-26 fiscal year, according to city documents.

2. Voting center and splash pad design contract: Council members approved an amendment to a design contract approved in November 2025. The city will spend an additional $111,643 on design work to add restrooms, shade structures, picnic tables and benches to the Colleyville Recreation Center property.

3. Senior living development agreement: Council also approved updates to a development agreement for a senior living facility, which was approved in June 2024, according to city documents.

Holistic med spa and health service center, Just Wellness, will celebrate 15 years of business with a grand re-opening event on Oct 22.

The details: Under the wellness and recovery label, the business still offers cryotherapy as well as other services like red light therapy and IV drips and injections.

Justine Lewis, owner, family nurse practitioner and injector trainer, oversees the aesthetics side of the business and performs all injectable treatments.

The aesthetic and med spa services offered by the business include Botox injections, laser hair removal and dermal fillers.

What's next: The anniversary event will include free skin analyses and mini consultations to promote new and existing treatments and services.

This November, four candidates are running to lead the Texas Comptroller's Office and serve as the state's chief financial officer.

The overview: Libertarian V. Alonzo Echavarria-Garza, Democrat Sarah Eckhardt, Green Party candidate Shehla Faizi and Republican Don Huffines are running for comptroller. Huffines, whom Gov. Greg Abbott appointed to the office in July, is considered the incumbent in this race.

How it works: The comptroller oversees government spending and administers the state's $1 billion education savings account program, which launched ahead of the 2026-27 school year.

Looking ahead: Early voting runs from Oct. 19-30 in the midterm election, and Election Day is Nov. 3.
