Food packaging company Tetra Pak breaks ground on new product development center in Denton

Tetra Pak, a food and beverage processing and packaging company, broke ground on its expanding product development center in Denton, according to a news release from the company.

The details: Tetra Pak held the ceremony March 31 to commemorate the new facility, which is part of its U.S. and Canadian headquarters. According to the news release, the expanded product development center will allow Tetra Pak to bring products to the market quicker and more efficiently.

The facility is expected to open at the beginning of 2027 and will include 12,000 square feet for the product development center with an additional 3,000 square feet for a new customer innovation center, the release states.

Expansion will bring eight new jobs to Denton and increase customer engagement and business, the release states.

Zooming out: Tetra Pak uses packaging to help make food and beverages safe to consume while promoting sustainability, according to its website.

Beach Club Car Wash to open first Denton location

The city of Denton will receive its first Beach Club Car Wash off State School Road.

Diving deeper: The $1.3 million new construction is expected to finish construction by June 15 and will have vacuum bays, a drive-thru and general parking, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

A representative with Beach Club Car Wash said that there will be a soft opening soon for the Denton location, through a date has not been set.

What else? A social media post from SVN VERUS Commercial states that the property sold to Beach Club Car Wash in November encompasses 37,460 square feet.

The club currently is offering a text club special, where the first 500 guests receive a free wash, Those who join also receive exclusive offers, VIP perks and member-only deals delivered to phones once the business is open.

There are currently eight Beach Club Car Washes in development or open in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

$45M Children's Health StarCenter Multisport in Northlake celebrates grand opening

Children's Health StarCenter Multisport held its grand opening at the end of March with ice skating, autographs with former Dallas Stars players and the Dallas Pulse professional volleyball team, and hockey showcases.

The overview: The new $45 million facility is a 225,000-square-foot indoor youth sports center with two National Hockey League regulation sheets of ice and eight basketball courts that can be converted into 16 volleyball courts, according to previous Community Impact reporting.

The center has two rinks and two gyms named after local leaders and athletes. The Nieuwendyk rink is named after Joe Nieuwendyk, who spent nearly seven years with the Dallas Stars. The McKinney rink is dedicated to Rhyle McKinney, a basketball player who grew up in Argyle and played for Southern Methodist University and Texas Tech University.

The details: The center will host various leagues for athletes of all ages to participate in, including hockey, volleyball and basketball, according to its website.
