PREVIEW: Klein ISD board of trustees to call November election

The Klein ISD board of trustees will discuss calling a Nov. 3 election for two of the seven seats on the dais that are approaching their term’s end during the Aug. 10 regular meeting.


What’s happening: Trustees hold their positions for three years, and the terms for positions 1 and 2 are set to expire in 2026, the seats are currently held by trustees Dustin Qualls and Doug James, respectively.

Per meeting documents, the trustee election is estimated to cost the district $415,000, and will be conducted jointly with Harris County following board authorization.


The board will also consider approving modifications to multiple local board policies pertaining to:

  • Superintendent nonrenewal

  • Financial ethics

  • Employees practices, and standards of conduct

  • Personnel

  • Gifted and talented students

  • Class ranking

  • Student safety

  • Personal electronic devices

Before you go: The KISD board of trustees are scheduled to meet Aug. 10 at 6 p.m. in the Boardroom of the Frank A. Lemmon Administration Building located at 7200 Spring Cypress Road, Klein.

New Hobby Airport parking facility offers $5 daily rates

Travelers flying through Houston's William P. Hobby Airport now have a new off-airport parking option with the opening of Hobby Airport Parking on July 13, according to a news release from Paquin Public Relations.

What you need to know: Located 2.5 miles from the airport, the new facility offers uncovered and covered parking, along with complimentary shuttle service, according to the release.
