5 business networking events coming to Cedar Park in early 2026

Cedar Park business owners and professionals have several opportunities for networking and professional development this quarter through several events hosted by Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce. This list is not comprehensive.

1. Business After Hours
Chamber members and guests can connect with local professionals during an evening networking event hosted by Frost Bank.

2. Power Networking Breakfast
The breakfast provides an opportunity for local individuals to connect and network with other local business owners and professionals.
  • Jan. 23, 8:30-10 a.m.
  • $5 for members, $15 for nonmembers

3. Brews & Dudes Happy Hour
Attendees can network with other Cedar Park Chamber members during a happy hour at The All Good.

PopStroke eyes spring opening for new Cedar Park venture

Mini-golf company PopStroke has announced plans to open a second Austin-area location in Cedar Park.

The details: The $5.8 million venture is anticipated to open in April, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Co-owned by golf legend Tiger Woods, PopStroke recently opened its first Austin location near The Domain in North Austin in September.

Community members can expect to find two 18-hole mini-golf courses, a full-service scratch kitchen restaurant and an ice cream parlor. The venue will include indoor and outdoor restaurant seating, three bars, an outdoor beer garden, yard games and a fully enclosed soft-surface playground.

Individuals can pay a daily rate for the space’s experiences or invest in a membership fee, which provides access to all games and sports amenities. The space can also be rented out for events or retreats.

Claw Haven
The Asian-style claw arcade is owned by Michael Lu, Bradley Wong, Vicky Lee and Peter Song. Claw Haven has a variety of claw machines with prizes including Pokémon plushies, POPMART Labubus and BABYTHREE Blind Boxes. The goal for Claw Haven is for every visitor to leave feeling like a winner, according to the company's website.

Teaspoon
The new boba spot sells seasonal sips, classic tea flavors and coffee. Menu items include the Guava Sunset, which includes guava and pineapple marmalade with lemon juice. Keyla Ruiz and her sister Rhoda Sween are co-owners of the new franchise location.

ACC workforce, health programs see double-digit enrollment increase

Amid enrollment growth across a majority of its programs, Austin Community College is reporting significant growth across workforce and health care programs. 

What you need to know: The community college district shared an update on enrollment Jan. 20, the start of the spring 2026 semester. 

Data updated as of Jan. 16 shows enrollment is up 7% year over year. More students are also choosing to remain with ACC semester to semester, the report shows, with returning students up 9% compared to 2025, and 23% compared to 2024.

An electric vehicle sales center and a new residential building are among the newest projects filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Here are five of the most expensive projects filed with the TDLR in the Austin metro this week.

1. Gunter Street residential building: A five-story, multifamily building with a five-story parking garage is planned near the East Seventh Street H-E-B.

  • Location: 1135 Gunter St., Austin
  • Estimated timeline: May 1, 2026-Aug. 1, 2028
  • Estimated cost: $80 million

2. Kelly Lane Phase 3: The city of Pflugerville will reconstruct curbs and gutters, four roundabouts and 10-inch sidewalks on each side of the road. Phase 2 of the projected completed in late 2025.
  • Location: Kelly Lane, from Moorlynch Avenue to Weiss Lane, Pflugerville
  • Estimated timeline: Oct. 1, 2026-March 31, 2030
  • Estimated cost: $40 million

Five Republican candidates are running for a six-year term on the Texas Railroad Commission in the upcoming March 3 primary election.

The big picture: Katherine Culbert, Hawk Dunlap, Bo French, James "Jim" Matlock and Jim Wright are vying for the Republican nomination for a seat on the railroad commission. The winning Republican candidate will face Jon Rosenthal in November, and the winner of that election will begin serving on the commission in January 2027.

The context: The railroad commission regulates Texas’ oil and gas industry, according to its website, while the state's railroads are under the control of the Texas Department of Transportation and the federal government.
