Bee Cave City Council approved the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget and property tax rate at a Sept. 22 council meeting.

The overview: Bee Cave City approved maintaining the prior year’s property tax rate at $0.0200 per $100 of valuation.

The average taxable homestead value decreased slightly in fiscal year 2026-2027 from $768,375 to $768,061, making the annual tax amount for the average home about $153.61, roughly 7 cents less than the previous year.

By the numbers: Bee Cave also approved a nearly $26 million budget with an anticipated $1.49 million surplus.

The FY 2026-27 budget shows revenues for the city at roughly $14.3 million and expenses at $12.8 million.

“I’m not immune to understanding the difficulty and what otherwise would most likely cause a lot of strife for a lot of other municipalities across the state and we’re able to look at this and just nitpick the little things… it’s just wonderful,” City Council member Blake Sbrocco said.

Revenue from sales tax makes up almost 78% of the city’s revenue and exceeds the previous year’s budgeted amount by $600,000.

Chalk Training in Westlake is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in September.

The overview: Chalk Training is a small-group, semi-private and personal training studio that provides training and nutrition guidance for all fitness levels.

Workouts focus on strength training, functional range conditioning for joint health and mobility and conditioning for the heart and lungs.

The details: Chalk Training is hosting a 10-year anniversary party on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The celebration will feature a ribbon cutting, membership and personal training specials, food and drinks, local vendor booths, a raffle, prizes and announcing the Golden Kettlebell Member of the Year.

In addition to celebrating 10 years, Chalk Training is currently undergoing renovations that will be revealed at the anniversary party.

The 65th annual Wurstfest, New Braunfels’ 10-day “Salute to Sausage,” is upon us. Here is everything visitors and locals need to know for the event.

The festival takes place at Landa Park and will feature various food and drink vendors, live music, competitions, artisan shops and sausage-making.

What's new: A Weingarten will be available in the hydro plant, near Gate One and will feature German wine, as well as premium selections from the United States. Three new beers have also been added on tap: Modelo, Paulaner Pils and Weihenstephan, a beer from one of the oldest breweries in the world, Allen told Community Impact.

"In honor of our 65th anniversary, we are pulling out all the stops to ensure our patrons have the best of the wurst’ times," said 2026 Wurstfest President Marc Allen.

Six local events are scheduled to take place from Sept. 25-29:

• Comal County Fair Parade: Featuring floats from local businesses and sponsors, the parade starts at 9 a.m. Sept. 25 at 500 Main Plaza in New Braunfels. Admission is free.
• Mainly Art: This free outdoor event spotlights 15 artists from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 26 at 221 E. Main St. in Round Rock.
• Cedar Parktoberfest: Celebrating Bavarian culture, this free festival begins at 4 p.m. Sept. 26 at 301 S. Bell Blvd. in Cedar Park.
• Rhinestone Cowboy Gala: Benefiting programs for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, this gala starts at 5 p.m. Sept. 26 at 1408 Chestnut St. in Bastrop.
• Art City Austin’s Fiesta: Running Sept. 26-27 at 600 River St. in Austin, this festival features an artist market, music and food.
• Harry Potter Trivia: This free trivia night starts at 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at Pinballz Kingdom in Buda.
