GCISD officials lower property tax rate for FY 2025-26

Grapevine-Colleyville ISD residents will pay roughly $246 less in property taxes for fiscal year 2025-26, following a property tax cut approved by the trustees at a Sept. 29 board meeting.

By the numbers: The new tax rate is roughly 5 cents lower than the prior year, at $0.8686 per $100 valuation. The new tax rate will lower property taxes for GCISD homeowners by about $246 a year for a home valued at $450,000, according to a presentation from GCISD Chief Financial Officer David Johnson. The previous tax rate, adopted in November 2024, was $0.9233 per $100 valuation, according to district documents.

The impact: GCISD Executive Communications Director Nicole Lyons added that GCISD residents will collectively save roughly $11 million over one year, under the new rate.

The details: The Australian-based wellness spa offers float therapy, infrared sauna and massage services in a private space. The spa is designed to reduce stress, ease pain and promote recovery, Pyland said.

Solidcore providing workouts in Southlake

Solidcore, a workout studio, is now open in Southlake Town Square.

The gist: Trainers at the business provide a high-intensity, low-impact full-body workout on a pilates-inspired reformer. Core workout utilizes slow and controlled movements designed to break down muscles to failure so they build back stronger, according to the company's website. Workouts are 50 minutes, the website states.

The details: There are 13 other Solidcore locations in Texas, with three in Dallas and one in Plano, according to the company's website. The Southlake location fills a spot that formerly housed The Ginger Man and Cowtown Brewery.

Enea’s Pizzeria will serve New York-style pizza in Roanoke next month, owner Edmond Gjekaj said. In addition to pizza, the restaurant will serve garlic knots, calzones, chicken rolls, submarine sandwiches and cannoli!


The pizza is made using fresh ingredients, hand-tossed dough and sauce made from scratch, Gjekaj said. The pizzeria will serve big slices that are meant to be eaten on-the-go or folded in half like in Manhattan, he said.

Dua Trattoria is serving up Itailian and Mediterranean fare in Frisco.


Whether customers choose a classic Italian lasagna or a Balkan staple like ćevapi, co-owner Nik Vllasaliu said they can expect high-quality ingredients at a very reasonable price.


Vllasaliu opened the Frisco restaurant in 2023 with his brothers and co-owners, Billy and Louie Vllasaliu.
