Several roadways are under construction for restoration and utilities installations. Check out eight transportation projects around Denton. This list is not comprehensive.

Sunset Street utility installations
Project: Sunset Street between Carroll Boulevard and Bolivar Street received a new waterline and total pavement replacement as part of the Neighborhood 2 bond package approved by voters in 2019.
Update: Utility installations and road repairs are complete. The road reopened and April and final work items were completed in June.

Ongoing projects
Pershing Drive utilities and roadway replacement

Project: Pershing Drive is receiving new water and wastewater lines, new roadway and portions of the sidewalk are being replaced. Denton voters approved the project as part of the Neighborhood 1B bond package.

Update: Crews are working to replace the driveway, curb and gutter with final paving to follow.

Bank OZK to offer financial services at new Denton location

The overview: A new Bank OZK branch is in development in Denton near Golden Triangle Mall in the old Lone Spur Cafe location, according to signage on the building.

Documents filed with the TDLR state the $1.5 million construction to convert the former restaurant into a bank will start in December and be completed in December 2027.

Bank OZK offers financial services like personal loans, checking and savings accounts, loans and home lending.

American to open new check-in experience, 2 Admirals Club lounges

Fort Worth-based American Airlines plans to open its largest Admirals Club lounge within Terminal C at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, according to a news release.

"We're investing in every stage of the premium travel journey at DFW, beginning the moment customers arrive at the airport," American’s Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden said in the news release.

New Terminal C Admirals Club
The new Admirals Club in Terminal C, which will be located near the terminal’s Skylink station, will be 37,000 square feet, per the news release.

The space will include a variety of seating options and workspaces.

Provisions by Admirals Club

The Provisions by Admirals Club will be a new grab-and-go kiosk option for travelers within Terminal F. The new terminal’s initial phase will include a 400,000-square-foot building and 15 gates, according to previous reporting.

Flagship check-in

A new check-in experience will open later this year near Gate D30. Eligible customers will be able to take advantage of the dedicated check-in area for flights.
