The big picture: The new master’s program aims to provide graduates with the technical and practical skills to turn sustainability science into “actionable policy,” per the release. The interdisciplinary program was designed by professors in both sustainability and policy fields and can complement any undergraduate background or degree.

A closer look: Graduates of the program can apply the degree to a wide range of career paths, including city government, federal agencies or private sector companies, said Muhammad Tauhidur Rahman, associate professor of geospatial information sciences and sustainability who led the development of the program.
