Construction on Valley Ranch's Yard 99 restaurant concept to begin in 2-3 years

Yard 99—a waterside three-restaurant concept—is expected to break ground in the next two to three years in Valley Ranch in New Caney, a spokesperson with the project’s developer, The Signorelli Co., confirmed via email June 25.

The big picture: The project is still being designed, but will feature restaurants with open outdoor spaces that spill out onto the waterfront, as previously reported by Community Impact. Yard 99 will be part of Valley Ranch’s Entertainment District, which also features offerings such as:

  • Hope Media Group’s headquarters
  • The East Montgomery County Improvement District’s convention center, which is still under construction
  • Lumos, an entertainment and event venue
  • Cinemark movie theater

Stay tuned: Specific restaurants to be located in Yard 99 have yet to be announced.

New Caney ISD seeking custodial staff at job fair

Job seekers interested in a custodial position at New Caney ISD will have a chance to learn more at the district’s Custodial Job Fair on July 14.

In a nutshell: Career fair attendees may receive an interview at the event, according to NCISD’s website. In order to qualify for an interview, job seekers must complete an online job application prior to the event.

What else? The Custodial Job Fair will be held from 8-10 a.m. July 14 at the district’s technology building, which is located at 21480 Valley Ranch Bend Drive, Porter.

Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center marks 10 years of providing support

Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center marked its 10-year anniversary this year with a June 22 event at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center.

The center opened in 2016 to provide support for patients and caregivers experiencing cancer, and it now provides more than 45 programs and other services free of charge for anyone impacted by cancer, regardless of where they received treatment, according to a news release.

What they offer: In the past year, the center has:

  • Logged 1,200 monthly guest encounters for patients and families both during and after treatment
  • Offered more than 45 unique programs and services, including gentle exercise, nutrition, education and social support
  • Facilitated more than 250 complimentary wig fittings and customized prosthesis or bra fittings for individuals

 
Across The Region
San Jacinto River Authority reviews 10-year plans for multiple divisions

At the June 25 regular board meeting, the San Jacinto River Authority reviewed 10-year plans for its Highlands and Lake Conroe divisions, as well as its water supply planning. The 10-year plans detail various projects' purposes and costs that the SJRA would consider approving over the next 10 years.

The breakdown: SJRA Graduate Engineer Jared Marek presented a 10-year project plan for the Highlands Division to the SJRA board. The plan includes updates to the water pump station facilities, addressing aging canal structures and levee rehabilitation, and the expansion of current operations and maintenance.

What else: SJRA Project Manager Greg Lushbaugh also presented the Lake Conroe Division’s 10-year plan to the SJRA board. Lake Conroe’s 10-year plan consists of different projects with an emphasis on repairs and maintenance to Lake Conroe facilities and roads.
