A new Burlington is slated to open a location in Kyle, bringing more shopping options to the area.

Burlington began as a coat wholesaler in 1924 and opened its first retail store in 1972. With 54 years in business, the clothing retailer has expanded to have over 1,200 stores throughout the United States. The off-price retailer sells clothing, home decor, beauty products, shoes and accessories. The selection of merchandise is available at prices up to 60% off compared to other retailers, according to the company's website.

Zooming in: The Burlington will be located in the 101-acre Kyle Park development, which broke ground in February.

1. New residential neighborhood to be built as part of nearly 2K-acre Kyle development: First America Homes, the homebuilding division of Texas real estate developer The Signorelli Company, will launch its Austin division with three residential communities.

A family-owned cafe is opening a second location within the Mayfair community this fall.

San Marcos-based Ollie's Market is opening its second area location in New Braunfels within Midtown Mayfair, according to a news release. Midtown Mayfair is the master-planned community's recreation and retail hub.

The details: Ollie's Market was founded by locals Natalie and Eli Zablosky, who opened their first location in San Marcos in August 2025. The Zabloskys said they have built their business on the belief that communities deserve access to clean, unprocessed food. The husband-and-wife duo works directly with local farmers and regional producers to craft their food and beverages.

"Ollie's Market has always been an extension of how we eat at home," Natalie Zablosky said in the release. "It started as a way to bring what I was raised with in San Marcos back into the community food scene. New Braunfels feels like a natural next step—a community that shares the same values we built this market on."

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport officials announced in a July 29 news release that the airport recorded its busiest month ever for passenger traffic in June, servicing 2,102,853 departing and arriving passengers.

The details: Per the release, AUS' passenger traffic growth for June 2026 was up 4.4% compared to June 2025. Data also shows that Southwest Airlines saw the most passenger traffic in June with with 916,510 passengers served, up 10.9% year-over-year. While JetBlue Airways only serviced 26,929 passengers, it had the highest year-over-year passenger increase at 241.7%. The number of Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa, Copa Airlines and VivaAerobus passengers were also up year-over-year, while American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Allegiant Air, Air Canada, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Aeromexico and Sun Country Airlines saw a decrease in passengers year-over-year. WestJet had the highest dip with 2,104 passengers, down 44%.

I-35 at Inner Loop Interchange

Project: The project includes the design and construction of improvements to the interchange between SE Inner Loop and I-35 in Georgetown.

Update: All work for the project has been put on hold pending TxDOT advancing the design of I-35.

Ongoing projects

Oak Hill Parkway

Project: The Texas Department of Transportation is currently reconstructing Hwy. 290 in Oak Hill, transforming the existing four-lane, undivided roadway to a six-lane divided highway with new frontage roads and 14 miles of shared-use paths.

Update: As of July, drivers can now travel on newly opened mainlanes, frontage roads and ramps. Drivers can expect ongoing painting, landscaping, asphalt paving, striping and shared-use path improvements to cause lane closures.
