Proposed auto repair shop permit under review again in Frisco

A proposed auto repair and muffler shop just north of Frisco’s rail district is under review for a third time by city officials.

What you need to know: Frisco’s Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing March 24 for the special use permit request and voted to table the item until April. The request, submitted by business owner and applicant Jon Carter Ferguson, would allow for an automotive repair shop to operate near the Meadow Hill Estates neighborhood.

Zooming in: Rolandrea Russell, Frisco planning supervisor, said staff recommended the commission table the item due to “some issues with the zoning sign.” The proposed car shop would be located just off North County Road near the intersection with All Stars Avenue.

Some context: Ferguson has submitted similar permit requests dating back to summer 2024. The applicant’s most recent permit request was approved by the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission but later denied by council last spring.
