Dill Dinkers opens largest San Antonio indoor pickleball facility near UTSA

Dill Dinkers opened its second San Antonio location near the University of Texas at San Antonio.

The details: The new 24,000-square-foot facility is the largest indoor pickleball facility in San Antonio. Situated in its own climate-controlled building, the new Dill Dinkers features 10 indoor courts, two dedicated social areas, a large parking lot and is built using sound-dampening materials to create a quieter environment.

According to a news release, the courts are individually fenced and are equipped with ProCushion surfaces for joint support and LED sport lighting. The new location’s pro shop offers paddles, balls and accessories. The shop also offers demo gear and exclusive member pricing, the news release states.

Dill Dinkers UTSA will host beginner clinics, leagues for all levels, tournaments and private event rentals. Coaching staff will include UT San Antonio student-athletes. The new location is also launching a Newbie + Beginner Academy, which is a structured seven-week program designed for players with little to no experience, according to the release.

New Orleans-based PJ's Coffee opens new location in North San Antonio

A new coffee shop is now open in North San Antonio, featuring a twist from New Orleans.

Sorting out details: PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans officially opened its newest SA-area location on March 10, shop staff told Community Impact.

It’s located at 25219 N. Hwy. 281, inside a new shopping development that also contains Pieper Smiles and Timberwood Family Orthodontics.

It will be the ninth overall location in the greater San Antonio area, and one of 20 cities in Texas with a PJ’s Coffee.

The company was founded in 1978 by Phyllis Jordan in New Orleans and now has 192 locations currently operating, according to their franchising website.

According to previous reporting from Community Impact, another location in the Stone Oak area opened last March.

On the menu: PJ’s Coffee baristas serve up a full espresso bar menu featuring iced and hot proprietary coffee, teas, refreshments and more.

Wholesaler Restaurant Depot now open in Northeast San Antonio

A business catering to restaurants, food trucks and more has opened a second San Antonio-area location.

The overview: Restaurant Depot opened its newest location in San Antonio at 11711 N. I-35, on April 1, company staff told Community Impact. The company has over 165 locations nationwide, with another in San Antonio on the city’s west side at 3333 Fredericksburg Road, according to its website.

What they offer: Restaurant Depot sells a wide range of wholesale supplies and goods for business owners. Customers can sign up for a free membership to shop at any location across the country. Products include bulk storage supplies, cooking oils, condiments and more, according to the company’s website. There is also meat, dairy and produce that can be bought in bulk for commercial cooking needs.
