1. Custer Road

Project:
The North Texas Municipal Water District is currently working to replace an aging pipeline along Custer Road.

Update: According to a city news release, 4,900 feet of the 9,100-foot pipeline has been installed. Permanent paving at West 15th Street and Pitman Drive will be scheduled pending water testing.

  • Timeline: February 2025-October 2026
  • Cost: $18 million
  • Funding source: North Texas Municipal Water District

2. 15th Street paving and waterline reconstruction

Project:
The project involves the removal and replacement of pavement, sidewalks and water lines along 15th Street from Municipal Avenue to Jupiter Road.

Update: Traffic lane widths are reduced to allow for utility installation from Municipal Avenue to P Avenue.
  • Timeline: August 2025-March 2027
  • Cost: $6.94 million
  • Funding source: city of Plano

The Tox sets opening date for Plano location

The Tox is set to open April 15 in Plano, a company representative said.

What they will offer: The Tox will offer body sculpting and sculpting facials. Body sculpting incorporates techniques that increase metabolic rate, removes excess toxins and assists with water retention, the company website states.

1418 Coffee to open first Richardson location in Core District

1418 Coffee is set to open its first Richardson location in the city’s Core District in late summer, according to an announcement from owner David Bryant.

The details: 1418 Coffee serves a variety of specialty coffees and pastries. The coffee shop will take over the building formerly occupied by Isabelly's Chocolates and Sweet Treats, which closed in 2023.

Dallas County

1. Lakeside Boulevard reconstruction
Project: Crews are reconstructing the street and implementing utility improvements on Lakeside Boulevard from US 75 to Campbell Road, and Lawnview Drive from Lakeside to Greenville Avenue in Richardson.

Update: Installation of the water line sewers from the roundabout to Campbell is currently underway, along with work in the Lawnview median.

  • Timeline: winter 2024-spring 2026
  • Cost: $10 million
  • Funding source: city of Richardson

Tarrant County

2. Cheek-Sparger, Bedford Road roundabout

Project: The project will add a single-lane roundabout at the Cheek-Sparger and Bedford Road intersection and relocate 500 feet of water line within the roundabout in Colleyville. 

Update: Colleyville City Council approved the relocation of the waterline to be added to the project at the April 7 meeting, which increased the project’s design cost by $47,000. 
  • Timeline: The project will go out to bid for a construction company later this year.
  • Cost: $199,000 for designs
  • Funding source: city of Colleyville
