Bee Cave considers draft options for new thoroughfare plan

Updates to roads in Bee Cave, including potential extensions of Hamilton Pool Road, may be coming soon, with officials currently engaged in preliminary work to update the city’s thoroughfare plan.

The overview: The city’s Major Thoroughfare Plan was last updated in 2023. The plan is part of the city’s Comprehensive Plan, according to the city’s website, and it specifically addresses roadway needs.

The details: At a City Council meeting held Oct. 14, engineers with Freese and Nichols presented 4 preliminary proposals for an upgrade to the plan, following several months of work, City Manager Julie Oakley said.

Following preliminary work on the updated proposals, the city still needs to speak with the Texas Department of Transportation and other stakeholders regarding the updates, and officials also intend to solicit more feedback from the public, Oakley said.

Residents can comment during public meetings or e-mail or call City Hall regarding their feedback, Oakley said.
