The second phase of a trail project in Shadow Ridge Park could begin in January.

Flower Mound Town Council unanimously approved a contract for the project, which is worth nearly $194,000, during the Jan. 5 meeting.

The overview: Apex Concrete Construction will work on the next phase of the trail project, which costs a little over $193,981, according to town documents. Funding for the project will come from the town’s 2025 bond, which was approved by voters last May.

Additional improvements to the trail include five new pedestrian ramps and the replacement of trail sections that do not meet Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility standards.

Academy of Aesthetics and Laser offers medical aesthetics training in Flower Mound

Academy of Aesthetics & Laser relocated to Flower Mound to teach classes on how to help people manage skin concerns, Co-owner Jennifer Buck said.

The details: The aesthetics school will offer 750-hour classes that last seven to eight months, Buck said. The class sizes are generally 12 students, she said.

Currently, the school offers hydrafacial training and microneedling training with other training programs coming soon, Buck said.

Zooming in: The new location will be twice the size of the Argyle location, allowing Buck to include more classes, such as laser training, which includes laser hair reduction and any laser treatments performed in a med-spa, lash-lifting and brow tinting.

Students will have the opportunity to perform 30-minute or 60-minute facials, which are given to customers at a discounted rate, Buck said.

One more thing: Buck owns the school with her husband, Jason Buck, who is a Flower Mound Police officer.
