Check out 3 upcoming, underway road projects in Manvel

Several roadway projects are planned in and around Manvel, with Texas Department of Transportation officials providing an update during Manvel’s Aug. 19 budget town hall.

What residents need to know: TxDOT plans to add sidewalks along the north side of Hwy. 6 between Bluewater Street and Masters Road, or FM 1128, in two phases, according to the presentation.

The first project, from Bluewater Street to McCoy Road, is expected to begin in November 2027 and cost about $1.1 million. The second, from McCoy Road to Masters Road, is expected to begin in June 2028 and cost about $1.8 million, according to the presentation.

Also of note: TxDOT’s Grand Parkway Segment B is a planned 28-mile, four-lane toll road connecting League City to Hwy. 288 near Rosharon through Galveston and Brazoria counties.

Construction is expected to begin in summer 2026 and finish by 2032, as previously reported by Community Impact.
