Frisco City Council approved the city's fiscal year 2026-27 maximum tax rate, which could potentially increase resident's tax bill by nearly two cents.

The final tax rate and city budget will be approved in September.

The specifics: This year’s proposed maximum property tax rate of $0.441289 per $100 valuation is a 3.71% increase from the FY 2025-26 rate of $0.425517.

The proposed rate also inches closer to the $0.4466 per $100 valuation rate that remained in place in Frisco from 2018 to 2023.

The increase from the current tax rate of $0.425517 to the maximum proposed tax rate of $0.441289 per $100,000 of taxable value is an increase of $1.31 per month or $15.77 annually.

MiYa Chinese plans to open a second North Texas restaurant at Frisco's The Mix, according to a TDLR filing. The $900,000 project includes a rooftop patio and is expected to be completed in April 2027.

What to know: First opened in Dallas in 2024, MiYa Chinese blends traditional Chinese recipes with a modern, full-service dining experience. Founded by restaurateur David Romano, MiYa Chinese features an interactive open kitchen, modern design and dishes rooted in Chinese heritage. The menu features dishes like handmade spring and egg rolls, a variety of soups, rice and noodle dishes, crispy duck breast, handmade soup dumplings and regular dumplings, Sichuan-inspired specialties and multiple dessert options. 

Construction to convert the 4,000 square foot interior is expected to start Oct. 1 and finish by April 1, 2027, according to the filing.

ATL Wing Spot is set to open a new restaurant in Frisco, according to new storefront signage.

What to know: ATL Wing Spot serves a halal-friendly menu featuring boneless and traditional chicken wings with over 25 sauce flavors, hand-breaded tenders, chicken and waffles, coconut shrimp, quesadillas, burgers, wraps and sandwiches. 

The restaurant originated in Long Island, New York, where its first location opened in May 2023, and has since expanded across New Jersey, California and New York, with Frisco marking the chain’s first Texas location. An opening timeline has not been established. 

A tech company is expanding its Richardson facility and the Einstein Bros. Bagels Terminal A location at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is set to undergo renovations. 1. Celestica expansion in Richardson: The tech company Celestica is expanding its Richardson facility with a new 225,000-square-foot building, according to TDLR documents. An estimated 2,300 jobs will be created in the process, according to previous Community Impact reporting.
