1. H-E-B purchases over 22 acres for Flower Mound store in Furst Ranch
A proposed Flower Mound H-E-B is one step closer to fruition after acquiring over 22 acres at the northeast corner of FM 1171 and US 377.

San-Antonio-based grocer H-E-B closed on 22.8 acres in the Furst Ranch mixed-use development at the end of June, said Mabrie Jackson, a spokesperson for H-E-B.

“We look forward to serving more Texans as we continue to expand across North Texas,” Jackson said in an email.

2. FM 407 breakout project moves ahead with additional $1.68M from Denton County
Denton County officials approved the allocation of additional funding toward the FM 407 breakout project near the border of Argyle and Northlake.

Commissioners unanimously approved supplemental agreement No. 2 to a professional services agreement with Bartlett & West Inc., worth around $1.68 million, during the Oct. 14 meeting.

In November 2025, there were 140 homes sold across Flower Mound, Highland Village and Argyle, according to data from the MetroTex Association of Realtors. Home sales declined by 18.6% year-over-year to 140 from 172 in November 2024.

Diving deeper: In November, there were also more than 130 homes newly listed for sale. However, new listings declined in all four ZIP codes in the market, per the data.

Palo Pinto Mountains State Park is not slated to open until late 2026, but guests are invited for a sneak peak of what the park has to offer with specialty day passes on New Year's Day.

In a nutshell: Rangers at the park will offer guided hikes only on Jan. 1 to explore the park before it officially opens and provide a unique way to celebrate the new year, according to a news release.

"Because we are still under construction, access is limited, and all visitors are required to have a day pass reservation," a Palo Pinto Mountains State Park representative said to Community Impact.

Zooming in: The 4,871-acre park will have a large network of trails for hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders, according to the park's website. Trails will lead to remote areas of the park with vista views, lakeside experiences and a variety of campsites, including RV sites.
