Home prices, sales up in 5 out of 8 ZIP codes in The Woodlands area in August

More homes were sold in five out of the eight ZIP codes in The Woodlands area tracked by Community Impact in August 2025 compared to August 2024. The highest percentage increase, 50%, was in 77380, according to data from Homeward. Fewer homes were sold in two ZIP codes, and 77382 remained the same as the previous month. 
 

What's changed: The median price of homes were also higher in five ZIP codes this August compared to August 2024. The highest increase, 63.9%, was in the 77380 ZIP code.

E-bike campaign launches with video for residents in The Woodlands

A month after meeting with community leaders, The Woodlands Township officials gave an update on the education campaign to raise awareness for safety on the trails for those who ride e-bikes, e-scooters and other electric vehicles.

What to know: A Public Safety Partner Video was released featuring multiple partner agencies and has been distributed across the social media and website channels, township Director of Communications LeaAnn Petersen said.

The layout: The campaign has been posted regularly on township social media posts and reels scheduled every Monday and Friday to reach varied audiences, Petersen said.

What else? The plan runs through December, with a comprehensive campaign report to be provided in January, Petersen said.

What’s next: The next update on the campaign will be provided in November.

A number of celebrations for National Night Out, an annual community campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, will be held Oct. 7 in the Greater Houston area.

Texas-based start up Base Power launches in Houston

Base Power, an energy company founded in 2023 and headquartered in Austin, officially launched in Houston on Sept. 24, according to a news release. 

Community Impact previously reported that the energy company originally opened in the Cy-Fair, Spring, Cinco Ranch and Mission Bend communities following its launch in Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth.

What you need to know: Co-owned by Zach Dell, Base Power is the only Texas energy provider that comes with a home backup power, according to the news release. The energy company offers an all-in-one energy plan that includes an entire home backup battery. When the grid goes down, the battery automatically powers the home, according to the release.
