Dutch Bros Coffee could be coming to West Frontier Parkway near the border of Prosper and Celina, according to a permit filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

What they offer: The drive-thru coffee chain serves specialty coffee, smoothies, energy drinks and more, according to the company’s website.

The context: The West Frontier Parkway location would be Prosper’s second Dutch Bros Coffee, joining an existing location at 520 S. Preston Road.

Something to note: A company representative declined to comment on the potential new location.

1. Mount Gilead Road improvements

Project: Surface improvements are planned on Mount Gilead Road from US 377 to Bourland Road in Keller. The work features three lanes with turn lanes, a trail along the north side of the road, a sidewalk along the south side of the roadway and a single-lane roundabout on Bourland Road, according to a council presentation on Aug. 4.

Update: Alonzo Liñán, director of public works, provided an update during the Aug. 4 council meeting. He said the design by firm Kimley-Horn was 98% done and the next step would be to award the contract in September.

Denton County voters will choose between two candidates for the Denton County Commissioners Court, Precinct 4 seat, which will be on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.

What you need to know: The candidates running for the position are Stephanie Draper and David Wylie. In the March Republican primary election, Wylie won the race against three other candidates, including incumbent Dianne Edmondson, according to previous reporting. Draper was unopposed in the Democratic primary election.
