Eddie Bauer closed its doors at the Hill Country Galleria in January, a representative from the Galleria said.

The overview: Eddie Bauer offers sportswear, outerwear, outdoor gear and travel accessories for men, women and children.

The company was founded in Seattle in 1920.

Something to note: The Eddie Bauer outlet at the Rock Round outlet mall is also closed.

Leander ISD could see a multimillion dollar bond on the ballot in November. Citizens' Facility Advisory Committee steering committee co-Chairs Rachel Lilla and Clint Pruett presented the bond project recommendations during the July 30 board meeting. 

Some context: According to Lilla, the majority of projects span facilities, safety and security, student programs and support, and energy efficiency and conservation. The recommendations are based off two options: a four-year cycle, which "casts a wider net," and a three-year cycle, which would reduce the scope and overall cost of the bond.

Breaking it down: The three-year cycle bond recommendation list would cost $591.23 million, and the four-year cycle would cost $708.5 million. 

Next steps: The board will have final bond and voter-approval tax rate election discussions at its next meeting Aug. 6, and must call for an election by Aug. 17 in order to place the bond package or VATRE on the November ballot.

Residents in the Southwestern Travis County Groundwater Conservation District (SWTCGCD) are no longer subject to mandatory reductions following a moderate drought declaration.

Weeks of heavy rainfall in Central Texas has reduced drought intensity in the SWTCGCD and district officials lowered the drought stage from severe to moderate drought effective July 30.

However, SWTCGCD personnel are still recommending conservation measures.

The overview: Despite improved drought conditions, groundwater levels remain at historic lows throughout the district, according to a new release.

The portion of the Trinity Aquifer managed by the SWTCCD is deep underground and does not recharge as quickly as surface water. Increased rainfall does not immediately improve groundwater levels.

How to help: Current drought response measures entail a 10% voluntary reduction in groundwater use.

According to the release, recommended water conservation measures include:

• Watering lawns no more than every five days
• Watering only between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
• Avoiding washing outdoor surfaces unless necessary for health, safety or fire prevention
