Metroport Meals on Wheels offers a chance for individuals in need of food to connect with the volunteers who bring them warm meals.

“The personal connection between the volunteers and the participants is huge,” Executive Director Mary King said. “The volunteers love it [and] the participants look forward to it.”

The overview: Meals are dropped off to homes of individuals who cannot cook for themselves. Metroport Meals on Wheels also delivers meals to local senior living facilities, King said.

Metroport Meals on Wheels is located off US 377 in Roanoke and services people in northeast Tarrant County, south Denton County and south Wise County, King said.

Meals come from restaurant and grocery store partners such as Central Market in Southlake, Snooty Pig Cafe in Argyle and Dove Creek Cafe in Roanoke.

Texas Regional Bank is renovating its location near Texas Motor Speedway.

According to a press release, the renovations are part of an ongoing effort to bring Texas Regional Bank’s architectural design and customer experience to North Texas. The bank is still open during the construction.

What's happening? The work includes renovating of 900 square feet, both inside and outside, and tearing down an existing drive-through canopy, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The estimated cost of the work is $200,000.

The details: Texas Regional Bank offers core banking, capital markets, trust and wealth management, mortgage, international banking, insurance, foreign exchange and economic development services, according to its website.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance was one of seven Texas Health hospitals named to the 2026 High Performing hospitals for Maternity Care by U.S. News & World Report, according to a news release.

The details: For the 2026 data, 901 hospitals nationwide submitted detailed data about their labor and delivery services, which is how U.S. News & World Report collects information to make its analysis.

Texas Health Alliance was one of 31 hospitals in the state to earn the honor.
