Stretch Zone coming soon to Coles Crossing area

A new Stretch Zone studio is coming to Cypress in the Coles Crossing area in October 2026, Stretch Zone Cypress Coles Crossing officials confirmed.

The details: Per the website, Stretch Zone offers practitioner-assisted stretching methods intended to increase active range of motion rather than flexibility. The franchise was founded by Jorden Gold in Miami in 2004 after witnessing his grandfather's growing limitations due to diabetes, according to a Stretch Zone news release.

Lone Star College System student enrollment exceeds 100K for first time

Over 100,000 students have enrolled at Lone Star College System for the fall semester, marking a milestone for the college system, according to a Sept. 14 news release.

A new chapter: For the fall semester of the 2026-27 school year, 100,023 students are enrolled to take courses at LSCS, according to the release.

LSCS's current enrollment represents an increase of 2.8% compared to the fall enrollment for 2025, which was 97,294, according to the college system's website. Enrollment has grown 17.45% compared to the fall of 2022.

Notable quote: “We are proud to serve each of these students, equipping them with the tools they need to pursue their dreams,” said Christina Hagerty, LSCS senior associate vice chancellor of curriculum and instruction, via the release.

PREVIEW: Harris County ESD 9 to discuss Station 17 construction matters

The Harris County Emergency Services District No. 9 board of commissioners will hold a special meeting on Sept. 15 to discuss construction matters for the upcoming Station 17 project. Harris County ESD 9 is a political subdivision and taxing entity that supports fire suppression and emergency medical service operations for the Cy-Fair Fire Department.

What you need to know: During the meeting, the board will meet with Durotech and Martinez Architects to discuss bid numbers and proposals. Martinez Architects previously presented a schedule for the design activities of Station 17, which is one of eight planned fire stations intended to fill coverage gaps throughout the district:

  • August: receive bids from Durotech

  • September: issue Guaranteed Maximum Price for board approval

  • November: Notice to Proceed
